Osprey Top Helm - 17 May 2008
Saturday 17 May sees the long awaited return of the "real" Osprey Top Helm. The top four boats from last season will take part in a total of four races with each helm competing in a race in each boat.
This event, in which helms are competing for the Ken Robertson Trophy (displayed in the Clubhouse), has not been sailed for a number of years.
The first race will start at 14:30 hrs. Results will be posted in due course.

Quiz night - Friday 18 April 2008

19 April 2008 sailing cancelled
As a result of the shortage of Pier Head volunteers to run the racing, the Sailing Committee has taken the decision to cancel the race scheduled for Saturday 19 April 2008.
There will be racing on Sunday 20 April 2008 - the first race in the Club Champion series.

Social with the staff of Camborne school Friday 25 April 2008
There will be a social get together with the staff of Camborne school on Friday 25 April at 20:00 hrs in the Clubhouse. The event will include pool and darts competitions (volunteers required to play as representatives of the Club).
Pasties will be available on the evening if ordered through Malcolm Woolcock prior to the event.

Club Laser sailor third in Youth Nationals
Congratulations to John Currie who has finished 3rd overall in the Laser Radial Fleet at the Youth Nationals held last week (29 March 2008 to 4 April 2008) at Pwllheli Sailing Club, North Wales. A fantastic result in a very competitive fleet of 85 entries.
Also, very well done to George Cousins who finished 11th overall in the Laser Standard fleet.

Club Lasers at 2008 RYA Youth Nationals
This week (29 March 2008 to 4 April 2008) two of our Laser sailors are competing in the 2008 RYA Youth Nationals, the premier event in the UK Youth Calendar, and trials to select the sailors to represent Team GBR at the 2008 ISAF Youth World Championships. George Cousins is competing in the Laser Standard Class and John Currie is competing in the Laser Radial Class.
The event is taking place at Pwllheli Sailing Club. For more information and results refer to the event web site.

Launching Party - Saturday 22 March 2008

TSYT adventures - Friday 7 March 2008
Just to remind you, tomorrow evening two of our younger sailors will tell us about their adventures in TSYT (Tall Ships Youth Trust) tall ships on the high seas. The presentations will take place in the Clubhouse at 19:30 hours.

Rosie Chapman wins first 2008 RYA Olympic Classes Spring Series event
Last weekend (23-24 February 2008) Ally Martin and Rosie Chapman won the woman's 470 class in the first of the 2008 RYA Olympic Classes Spring Series events. The series, which is compulsory for all RYA Olympic Development and Transition squad members, provides keen competition and this first event gave sailors the chance to test their mettle at the home of the 2012 Olympic Regatta - the Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy.
The next event in the series will take place at Hayling Island Sailing Club on 10-11 May 2008

2008 Year Book now online
The Club's 2008 Year Book is now available for download from the web site. Also available to download are the new 2008 courses.
The web site will be updated to reflect the new sailing instructions in due course.

2008 Winter Programme update
The 2008 Winter Programme has now been updated; it now contains events for nearly every Friday until the end of March.

2008 Sailing Season starts 22 March
The first race of the 2008 Sailing Season will take place on Easter Saturday (22 March) starting at 14:30 hours. Tides will be perfect. Hopefully the weather will be too.
There will be a launching party in the Clubhouse in the evening.
